School has kept me busy and so nothing has been posted in a very long time. While I"m break I am going to post some things up here. Hopefully I can keep it up over the next term. I do not recall if I wrote about how I am making art since last Spring, but I contiue to think about Zen in my art making. I contiue to use imagery that I find inspiring, like waves, octopuses, fish and combing it between traditional East Asian painting styles and pop art. I have also taken to re-purpose abandoned canvases from my classroom, photos as well. I like to use these because they give a form to fit into. I have limited my oil painting palette to just a few colors, simplicity. Most recent paintings use the secondary triad, it is a color scheme that most would not think is harmonious, say it out load 'orange, violet, green', this doesn't ring as particularly pleasing, but when one sees these together, the sense of completeness is present. We'll see what I can make of it.
